The inspiration for this project originated from the realization that as Africans residing in the diaspora, we needed provision of funding that would assist Africans in the diaspora with a cash lump sum in the event of the passing on of a loved one, whether being buried in the UK or being repatriated back to Africa. Some fellow Africans in the diaspora have passed on and have had to spend months in the mortuary while funds are being raised through crowdfunding platforms in order to give the deceased a befitting burial. Diaspora Funeral Support’s vision is to support a widespread shift away from the humiliation of crowd funded funerals for Africans in the diaspora.

The current initiative aims to promote social cohesiveness and the desire of diasporans to band together, especially during difficult moments like loss. The project’s Pay As You Go structure and open recruiting process are now its key selling factors. By enlisting members, modest contributions will add up to a substantial donation of compassion in times of need. The organization will also serve as a resource for our members in the UK for information on matters related to death.

Diaspora Funeral Support is a need driven funeral assistance targeted at diaspora communities.

Diaspora Funeral Support is  essentially an organization that makes it a point that you can be rest assured that your family will never have to face the nightmare of bereaving and begging for help from strangers to cover funeral and/or repatriation bills.
